As we close out an incredible year at Alchemy Studio, we’re reflecting on all that we’ve accomplished and the milestones that have marked our journey. This year has been filled with growth, innovation, and meaningful connections that have deepened our mission of helping others feel confident and comfortable in their own skin. Here’s a look back at what made this year extraordinary:
Celebrating 5 Years of Alchemy
This February, we celebrated our 5-year anniversary with an amazing setup surrounded by so many loved ones, friends, and clients. It was a heartfelt moment to reflect on how far we’ve come and the incredible community that has supported us throughout the years. Thank you to everyone who joined us for making it such a memorable milestone!
Breaking New Ground with Insurance Billing
We began the year with a transformative leap that we once thought was beyond our reach: insurance billing for cancer survivors’ tattoos and medical scars. This initiative has allowed us to make our services more accessible to survivors across West Virginia, ensuring that they receive the care and artistry they deserve without financial barriers.
Partnerships That Change Lives
We joined forces with Sharsheret and the Sauler Institute, which cleared and approved our portfolio to provide funding for a survivor each quarter. These partnerships have enabled us to directly impact lives and bring healing and confidence to those who need it most.
Our network has also expanded to include collaborations with several top surgeons, including the WVU Cancer Institute, CAMC Plastics, and Thaxton Plastic Surgery. These connections have been instrumental in bridging the gap between medical care and artistic restoration.
Expanding to Morgantown
We’re thrilled to have extended our reach into Morgantown, WV, with the support of Untangled Salon. This partnership has made it possible to offer our services to even more clients across the state, eliminating travel barriers for those seeking paramedical tattooing.
Advanced Training and New Certifications
This year, Christina attended her first exclusive paramedical tattoo retreat in Houston, TX, an experience that was both humbling and empowering. The retreat provided intensive training, where Christina earned seven new certifications:
Areola Realism
3D Belly Button Tattooing
Scar Camouflage
Stretchmark Revision
Advanced Texture for Melanin-Rich Skin
Procell Therapy
Breast Augmentation Scar Training
To top it off, Christina’s dedication and skill were recognized with an award for her work in class!
Achieving Excellence and Learning Lessons
This year, our client retention rate reached 92%, a testament to the trust and satisfaction of those we serve. Christina performed over 500 services for individuals, showcasing her unwavering commitment to her craft. Along the way, we encountered one challenging experience with a guest who refused to pay for professional time and services. This taught us an invaluable lesson about the importance of valuing our time, maintaining self-worth, and implementing stronger boundaries.
Highlighting Community Impact
We were honored to be featured in the newspaper and secured a spot on the news to highlight Christina’s unwavering commitment to building and assisting the local community through meaningful tattoos and authentic interactions. These moments have solidified our mission to make a lasting, positive impact on those we serve.
Looking Ahead
As we celebrate these accomplishments, we’re even more excited for what’s to come. Our mission remains rooted in providing life-changing services to our clients, breaking down barriers to care, and continually evolving as artists and professionals. None of this would be possible without the support of our clients, collaborators, and community.
From the bottom of our hearts, thank you for making 2024 an unforgettable year. Here’s to continuing the journey together in 2025 and beyond!
With gratitude and excitement,
Christina Hornyak and the Alchemy Studio Team
