My Experience at The Skin Games: Competing on the International Stage

Earlier this month, I had the incredible opportunity to travel to Atlanta, Georgia, to compete in The Skin Games in the Areola category. This was my first year participating in this prestigious international competition, and I was honored to be among the 15 finalists selected to showcase our work in paramedical tattooing.

The Skin Games Experience

The Skin Games is more than just a competition—it’s an immersive experience that brings together the best artists in the industry. From the moment I arrived, I was surrounded by top professionals, all passionate about advancing the field of permanent cosmetics and paramedical tattooing.

Throughout the event, I attended discussion panels featuring some of the biggest names in the industry. These sessions were invaluable, offering insight into cutting-edge techniques, pigment science, and the future of paramedical tattooing. The chance to learn from and network with such talented individuals was a highlight of my trip.

The Escape Room and Vendors

In between the competitions and panels, The Skin Games also offered some fun and engaging activities. One of the most unexpected but exciting parts was the escape room! It was a great way to unwind, bond with fellow competitors, and put our problem-solving skills to the test in a completely different environment.

The vendor area was equally impressive. There were booths showcasing the latest innovations in pigments, machines, and aftercare products. I got to see and test out new equipment, speak directly with industry leaders, and bring home valuable resources to enhance my own practice.

The Live Competitions and Awards Night

The biggest day of the event was the awards ceremony. The evening was nothing short of spectacular, with live performances, a dance team, themed costumes, a DJ, dinner, and drinks. The energy in the room was electric as competitors, judges, and industry professionals came together to celebrate excellence in permanent makeup and paramedical tattooing.

When it came time for the awards, I was thrilled to be announced as the third-place winner in the Areola category! Standing on stage as one of the top competitors in my division was an unforgettable moment. It was a validation of my hard work, dedication, and passion for providing high-quality areola restoration for survivors.

Reflections on the Competition

Competing in The Skin Games was an experience unlike any other. Not only did I get to put my skills to the test on an international level, but I also connected with an amazing community of artists who are equally committed to making a difference in people’s lives.

Winning third place in my division was a tremendous honor, but the real prize was the knowledge, inspiration, and friendships I gained throughout the event. I am more motivated than ever to continue growing as an artist and to bring the highest level of care to my clients.

I can’t wait to see where this journey takes me next, and I am already looking forward to future competitions and opportunities to push my craft even further!
